This 3 bedroom unit was built by the developers to demonstrate the architectural philosophy of the estate.
The intention with the architecture on Windspur Estate development is to stablish an environmentally sensitive development of low density with the preservation of the natural landscape in all its facets as the guiding factor.
The developer’s intention is to develop 34 individual contemporary buildings on freehold plots on 14 hectares of natural environment, with a unique cohesive character that is contextually sympathetic to the natural topography. The architecture will be responsive to the natural hues and earthy tones of the environment that will allow the buildings to merge with the landscape instead of contrasting with it. The result should be buildings of a modest scale that sit “in” the landscape while drawing on certain regional features to complement the natural environment, such as stone walls, corrugated roofs and timber and thereby provide the necessary cohesion for a successful development. It is therefore the developer’s expressed intention to develop a contemporary site sensitive architecture that is responsive to the natural environment. drawing on a contemporary interpretation of specific regional influences.
